Wines of Woodinville - Fifth Edition

Wines of Woodinville Collectors Cases, 2008

Packaging options; marketing and fund-raising goals

Option 1 – The Paul Gregutt Edition

A 12-bottle case of the specific Woodinville wines selected as Paul Gregutt’s favorite 100 Washington wines for 2007 (Two or three cases on this packaging) The Wineries wines, in order of his selection, included: Chateau Ste. Michelle (2)(51), DeLille (8), Betz (10), Matthews (16), Novelty Hill (22), Mark Ryan (29), Stevens (30), Col Solare (39), Januik (43), Doyenne (46), Brian Carter Cellars (60), DesVoigne Cellars (67), Cuillin Hills (69), Woodinville Wine Cellars (95).

Option 2 - Wine’n Shine Scholarship Edition

An 18-bottle case of wines donated (in case lots) by 18 members of Woodinville Wine Country (One dozen cases of this 18-bottle edition). These would be packaged in two, nine-bottle wood boxes carrying the logo of Wines of Woodinville Collector Case 2008, Fifth Edition. We should try and sell a number of these in the spring after Passport Weekend, beginning on Earth Day at the Rotary meeting through the installation dinner in June. We agree to deliver the two boxes in view of the bulk and weight.

Option 3  -  Boutique Edition

A 12-bottle case made up of wines donated by wineries that did not contribute a full case of wine. These will be packaged in such a way as to include several really premium wines to be included in the scholarship boutique edition. Each of the cases would be given a name with the list of wines included so that bidders could select which mixed case appealed to them most. The number of these cases will depend on the success of getting some of the wineries to donate between three and six bottles but not necessarily a full case due to product availability.

GOAL:  Generate sufficient income to add to the Wine Industry Scholarship Endowment and provide $3,000 scholarships in 2009 at Washington State University and Walla Walla Community College for their viticulture and enology programs. We will earmark a substantial amount of the income from the collector cases to go for those purposes.
