Membership invitations:
The Board has voted to extend invitations
of membership to three potential members, including Laurie Gerrard
of Northshore YMCA (Erv DeSmet sponsor); Dawn Schink, a contracts
officer with Puget Sound Energy (Tana Baumler sponsor); Ed
McKellips, who has visited with Norm Noble (Steve Dolan sponsor).
The membership committee will meet with each candidate and invite
each to attend meetings to get acquainted with our dynamic and
congenial gaggle of Rotarians.

Exchange student experiences:
To make Pauline Robin's stay with
Woodinville Rotary a most memorable and worthy experience,
Rotarians need to be reminded that sharing your and your family's
time with Pauline is important to extending our family of Rotary.
As an example, the club president and first lady plan to invite
Pauline for an outing next month to the Seattle Art Museum where
Pauline has expressed an interest in seeing the Gauguin exhibit.
Surely you'll have an idea to share with Pauline and do not
hesitate to ask her what she has on her list of things to do while
she is here with us.
Annual election of officers:
The nominating committee will present the
following slate of officers for club operations between July 1,
2012 and June 30, 2013. The election will be conducted at the
December 20 meeting of the club. Although a spirited contest is
expected for the office of past president, the committee proposes
the following: President, Greg Riggs; President-elect, Eric
Greenwood; Vice President, Becky Clark; Secretary, Roger
Martindill; Treasurer, Mike Visse; Past President, John Hughes.
Nominations will be taken from the floor. The nine directors
serving on the club's board of directors are appointed by the
President.
Director appointments:
The recent approval of new bylaws created
three new director positions. Appointed to handle this important
work will be Greg Gratz, community service; David Landau,
international service; Becky Clark, vocational service. The
president is seeking a member to succeed Becky in her previous
role as public relations director. All will serve until the end of
June, 2012.
Anniversary party January 31:
Clear the night of Tuesday, January
31 on your calendar to help our club celebrate our 25th
anniversary. The Board has voted to return to Crystal Lake
Clubhouse that night for dinner and entertainment and an enjoyable
time celebrating one another and the many accomplishments of
Woodinville Rotary. The planning committee includes Tana Baumler,
Eric Greenwood, Jeff Lair, Gordy Green, and David Landau. Thanx
for volunteering. More details later on cost, guests, menu etc.,
but please make every effort to attend.
Programs for 2012:
Got an idea for a program you would like to
see at a Rotary meeting in 2012?
Jorge Gonzalez
is coordinating the schedule and will welcome suggestions. On
January 10, for example, we will hear from returning Ambassadorial
Scholar Sasha Anderson who has spent a year of study in India. On
January 3, we'll get an update on happenings at the Maltby Food
Bank and their plans to expand.
