Packages for Santa: Don't be left out of the Gift Exchange! Ms. Claus issued a special request of Rotarians this week -- urging each to wrap and bring a white, grey or green elephant gift to be exchanged at Santa's visit to the club December 20. She is also rounding up elves to assist in this annual event. She asks that these choice items be brought the morning of the meeting.

Board Meeting Thursday: Club officers and board members will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the conference room of Ryan General Contractors at 20250 144th Ave. NE, Suite 300 (Rorry Dunbar's offices). Items on the agenda include planning for our silver anniversary charter night January 31, firesides scheduled for February, club dues structure, and suggestions for spurring members to attend the district Rotary conference next April in Coeur 'd Alene, Idaho.

Holiday Party photo gallery: For Snappy's array of photos from Crystal Lake Clubhouse, check out --  http://gallery.me.com/woodinvillerotary

Exchange student interviews: Special thanks to Larry Duffield, Jorge Gonzalez and exchange student Pauline Robin who devoted their Saturday morning to interviewing candidates seeking to be outbound exchange students next July.

Programs for 2012: Got an idea for a program you would like to see at a Rotary meeting in 2012? Jorge Gonzalez is coordinating the schedule and will welcome suggestions. On January 10, for example, we will hear from returning Ambassadorial Scholar Sasha Anderson who has spent a year of study in India.

Rotarians take holiday break....

...then stage Operation Warm, year 7

Operation Warm: This was the seventh year Woodinville Rotary has partnered with Northshore Rotary for the Santa breakfast and new coat distribution. Twenty seven of our members -- bringing spouses, children, partners, grandchildren -- turned out Friday evening and Saturday morning to set out and distribute more than 600 coats. A record turnout of more than 2,200 enjoyed breakfast, greeting Santa, having their face painted for the festive occasion and with kids receiving a toy and an Operation Warm coat.
Woodinville Rotary's five active charter members gathered at the Crystal Lake clubhouse fireplace for an historic photo op. The club received our charter in January of 1987.

Our Community Service Partner since 1990

Banner Bank has participated with Woodinville Rotary Club since 1990 in the development and support
of the many community and education projects which are and have been the focal point
of our club's annual October charity fund-raising event.

  Woodinville Rotary Club's
 Charitable Giving Focus

Rotarians of Woodinville believe that providing a pathway for Woodinville's youth to obtain an education represents our opportunity to live "Service Above Self".

The club provides direct funding to programs from grade  school through college...new Operation Warm coats for young children in need, brand new dictionaries for every third grader, summer reading camps at Kokanee and Woodmoor elementary schools, music and academic opportunities at the Secondary Academy for Success (SAS), a pilot project at Woodinville High School for peer-to-peer math tutoring, and renewable scholarships for Woodinville High School and SAS graduates where it will "make the difference" between affording and attending college.
