Eric Greenwood Reporting

The meeting was called to order by President Erv DeSmet which was followed by the customary flag salute, innovation, and a rousing song led by Chris, the song butcher, Boland.

Ed Lincoln, former Woodinville Rotarian, discussed the process of self publishing his memoir, Life through the Rearview Mirror, which reviews his many entrepreneurial exploits beginning with his childhood venture selling frogs.  It was noted that his book included commentary regarding his dealings with Terry Jarvis and other notable Woodinville characters.  It was also reported that the famed pink “Toe Truck” from his Lincoln Towing business had been fully restored and donated to the Washington History and Industry Museum which was due to be relocated to South Lake Union.

President Erv presented Vicki Puckett with a $5,000 check for the Club’s sponsorship of the Math Peer Tutoring Program (see home page of the Newsletter).  It was noted that the project was an idea generated by students as part of the annual goal setting project for Woodinville High School.  It was noted that the Club’s sponsorship was made possible because of the $1,500 contribution to the project from Brittany Park through Becky Clark’s support.  It is also noteworthy that the student concept for a peer tutoring program came from Matt Rieke who spoke at last weeks meeting.

Lastly, the marble remained undiscovered in the famous White Marble Depository leaving just three black marbles in the box. In photo, guest Jason Dick of Evergreen Healthcare Foundation, provided a bit of impartial levity which accounted for the black marble grasped by our treasurer Mike Visse. Rorry Dunbar appeared amused at the process with a raffle ticket at the ready.

Respectfully Submitted,

Eric Greenwood
