Larry Leonardson Reporting

Snappy was on sick call the 18th. Sporadic camera flashes were detected
but no digits were forwarded to the Newsletter staff for Posting.

Without the white marble being drawn, the Photo Staff was spared the embarrassment of missing that momentous occasion.

Only 25 present for post-three-day-weekend meeting.

Old song with fun new words by Dr. Al

Miro:  getting into American football but starts turnouts for real football today;  joined an athletic club; tests coming up

Dictionaries:  Fred Kempe needs help with labeling (done by the time you read this) and distribution at various schools

Dr. Chris Porter talked about prostate cancer.  The guys listened carefully and asked pointed questions; women appeared unresponsive.

Most prostate cancer is slow moving and can be treated; 32,000 per year die from it however.  The worse kinds are faster acting.  Treatment is by surgery or radiation; Genetics is relevant with 40 % of cancers but genetic screening is still too imprecise to be of much value.  Impotence is an issue 50% of the time but then impotence is an issue as much as 33% of the time with men after a certain age anyway.    (Query:  is this a good thing?)  “PSA” readings measure the volume of a tumor but “bad” cancers sometime not noticeable, therefore digital check is necessary.  Do both PSA and digital annually after age 50.

Boland turns 64 this year but, on the good side, saved his third life this year using Heimlich Maneuver.  Dr. Al turns 42 and luckily Marilyn is still here after two surgeries and a fender bender.

February 8, 2911  Rotary meeting at SAS site; Keep posted for exact directions.

Extended stories from John”wheeee” Creason, Rorry and George during sgt time.

Despite low turnout and Max doing the drawing, the elusive white marble remains undisturbed.
