Gary Choi's classification talk recalled his days
in South Asia as an energy company
executive with Texaco and Chevron....how he
served as president of a Rotary Club
in Korea...and his adventures of
landing in downtown Maltby where he and his
interest in Rotary was discovered by club secretary
Julian Denes. Gary holds a doctorate in chemical engineering and his sons are studying at Duke University
and Stanford University -- also in the field of engineering. Gary comes from a family of educators.
His classification is alternative energy resources.

Ski coupons were generously supplied by Gary
at the January 4 meeting. President Erv took the
photo opportunity to make the presentation
to one of three persons named Gonzalez who
were in attendance.

Respectfully Submitted by Snappy

Having informed the membership
of the plan for charitable giving for 2011,
Club Services Director Greg Riggs (left)
received a show of gratitude for his presentation from President Erv.

No mention was made, however, of the
elaborate Power Point that
accompanied the plea from Director Riggs
for members to submit ideas for use
of discretionary giving funds for 2011.

Proposals should go to John Abbott (international); Greg Gratz (community service); Eric Greenwood (education, literacy and scholarships); or Alex Hopkins (vocational).

The one of three Gonzalez persons (seen in photo at the right)
was not as fortunate in search of the elusive white marble and had to settle for ski coupons
