Rotary Reporter - John Abbott
“Rorry
describes the heights of his mission”
President Marsh called the club to order at
7:31AM Joe Truglio led the pledge of allegiance and Terry
Jarvis gave the invocation. Chris Boland led the club in a,
somewhat altered but rousing, version of "When the Saints Go
Marching In". Guests were welcomed.
 Rorry Dunbar
gave a presentation on his recent medical clinic mission to Peru
which the club has supported with a financial donation that goes
to medicines used during the clinic. The team held three
clinics in three locations - at least one of which was at an
altitude in excess of 13,000 feet! In addition to the
presentation on the clinics, Rorry provided a short slide show
of the side trip they took to Machu Picchu. All very
interesting with LOTS of climbing up. (This is the seventh year
Rorry has led the mission to South American locations).
Andrea briefly described her weekend visits to the Museum of
Flight and the Bodies Exhibition in Seattle.
The topic of
the Updated by-laws was offered for approval. During the
discussion on the subject, it was decided to table any club vote
on the changes until further review by the board.
Joe
Truglio noted that we still need 7 more volunteers for the
Rotary First Harvest event on Saturday Feb 13. Volunteers
should contact Joe by next week or the event could be cancelled.
Sergeant at Arms and other club business were postponed for
lack of time.
Evan had his shot at the $691 marble but
was not able to produce the white.
The meeting was
gaveled closed at 8:34 AM
Respectfully submitted:
John Abbott
