“It is more fun to give....”

The meeting was called to order with Susan Webster leading us in the Flag Salute, Pam Johnstone the convocation and Chris Boland once again doing a great job of leading us in song -- “ Looking Out My Back Door”.

Guests included Regan, Alexis and Alana Fiske.  Additionally there were a number of representatives from four Club beneficiaries who will be identified below.

Joe Truglio thanked all that participated in the Rotary First Harvest work party Saturday.  Good turnout and fun had by all while packaging frozen beans and pears for local food banks.

The Program for today’s meeting is the first of three planned for beneficiaries of our Charity Auction.  At today’s meeting, Joe introduced representatives from four beneficiaries, presented then donation checks and the representatives gave us a few words regarding their organizations.

Boy Scouts  ( Brent Stainbeck) – $3,000 donation to be used to underwrite upcoming March 26 Northlakes Boy Scouts fundraiser breakfast at Bear Creek Country Club.

A revised duty roster for Tuesday morning meetings was circulated.  Please review your scheduled dates and,  if unavailable please find a replacement notifying Al Marsh and John Hughes (for Newsletter)..

Pam Johnstone gave us information on the next Rotary Fellowship “5th Tuesday” social that will be held on the fourth Tuesday of March -- March 23.  Attire is western, to be held at a site to be determined, and, friends and family welcome.

Al Marsh read a letter from Richard B. a student from the East Ridge Grade School extending thanks and appreciation for the Dictionary program and the outstanding job done by the Rotarians distributing the books.

There were three February birthdays.  Roger Martindale (Feb 13) had a good year; Linda Hendrickson (Feb 14) celebrated 40 years of marriage and a new granddaughter, and Cherry Tinker (Feb 16) was saddened  by loss of  a sister but family and extended family and a great job helped.

The Sergeant of Harm Chris Boland auctioned a pair of Olympic mittens supplied by Susan Webster, with Jorge taking the bid for $45.  A really Happy Dollar from  Terry Jarvis,  reporting that Don Fitzpatrick and June Bartram got engaged Valentine Day.

The white marble jackpot was worth $826.  Brian Stainbeck (Boy Scouts) drew the lucky ticket but drew a black marble.  There are only about half-dozen marbles left, so buy lots of raffle tickets next week!
