A glorious morning it was, we each got a free raffle ticket from Joey of Lynnwood, the Eggs a la Grange looked better than ever (although they tasted the same) and for some unknown reason there were grapes left on the silver platter.

At President’s Al command we all stood up for the Flag Salute, participated in a prayer and sang Christmas Carrols under the direction of Past President turned Choir Director Chris Boland.

Guests of honor for this special occasion were our First Lady, and Halley and baby Bylin whom by the way out staged Santa by a long mile. Of course he is cute baby and Santa is, well just Santa.

Santa made his fashionable late entrance to the Grange carrying gifts, and even though that the recession has put a strain on his and Mrs. Claus budget the Spirit of the Season is alive and well at their home in the North Pole and so he spared no money to bring splendid gifts to the rejoice of all the Rotaryville girls and boys, comments were made however that his lap didn’t feel the same as in prior years but no clarification was given if it felt better, worst, or what. The suit needs some dry-cleaning though. Noticeable was that the elves were moving slower this year, must have been the cold weather outside. Of the trendy gifts, we wondered what a Woof Poof is good for, and those who receive one of them were ready to dispense of them in favor of the Nutcracker or some other useful gift but not so for the Ho-Ho-Ho shorts that Andréa received which she is saving for her school Principal to wear on assembly day.  Others were happy with their nose trimmer and the switch blade while others could hardly wait to go home to try the salad floss and enjoy the aroma of the just for cats air freshener.

Exhausted Santa and Mrs. Claus left the Grange with their slow moving elves, without taking their sled the darn thing is falling apart; they should have taken advantage of the cash for the clunkers.

President Al reminded us of the so very important election of officers that will take place at our next meeting.

Respectfully submitted in a language foreign to this reporter.
