Boost for scholarships --
The club last week received a $5,000 contribution to
the Rotary Make a Difference Scholarship "fund an
item" bringing the amount raised through Puttin' on
the Ritz to $34,081. The donation was from Carlene
and Jim Gaudette of Woodinville who were unable to
attend this year's event. In 2008, they sponsored
one of our first Make a Difference scholarships
which was awarded to Jacki Smith. Jacki and her twin
sister Nicole were featured during our "run up" to
the Fund a Need segment of this year's auction
program.
Producer's Party Signups--
The
students from SAS who presented such a memorable
dinner show at Puttin' on the Ritz will be
performing December 3 at the Hollywood Schoolhouse.
More information when available. This will be the
second annual Producer's Party, a fundraiser for The
Music Project Foundation. Eric Greenwood will
organize member interest in attending and supporting
the program.
Board meeting Nov. 18 --
High on the agenda for the
next meeting of club officers and directors
will be recommendations for the Rotary Charitable
Giving Plan for 2010. Steering committee members
wrapping up the financial details on Wine'n Shine
'09 should soon have a report on the results of
Puttin' on the Ritz to share with the membership.
The giving plan will be based on how well the event
did financially. One loose end being tied down this
week is that of invoices for members who agreed to
pay for their guests. Those will be in the mail this
week and are NOT part of the member's quarterly dues
which will not be billed again until January for the
club's operating months of January, February and
March of 2010. Those receiving invoices from Wine'n
Shine are asked to pay those directly to the
Woodinville Rotary Charitable Foundation at the club
post office box address.
