Rotary Reporter - John Abbott

President Alan struck the opening bell at 7:36AM
Alan Marsh led the Pledge of Allegiance, Rorry Dunbar the Invocation and Chris led a unique version of "Puttin' on the Ritz".
Gordy welcomed guests Bill Austin, Deb Martins and Norm Noble.

Bill Austin of Village Volunteers gave a brief update of the water filter project in Kiminini Kenya and accepted an additional donation of $3,500 from the club.  The add-on funds will be used to allow the inclusion of an office/test lab (which had been dropped due to cost increases) and to take advantage of an on-site newly donated well to allow the plumbing necessary to install running water in the factory.  Bill also passed around photos of the foundation construction.  Club members were invited to attend the dedication of the building in Kenya when it is completed in the spring.  Interested individuals should contact John Abbott.
Andrea gave a brief update of her week.  On Saturday she went to the Puyallup Fair and was surprised at the size of the event.  What she liked most was the animals.  Otherwise "just school".
Two birthdays were announced: Roger, who claims to be almost 9 (in dog years), and Jay who noted that it has "been another year".  Happy Birthday!

Eric - with the assistance of each of the auction chairs - went through a detailed review of the "Puttin' on the RItz" dinner show and auction this coming October 10.  The team has a excellent plan and the event is expected to be great fun.  John Hughes agreed to send out the evening agenda to the club members.
The raffle produced winners: Susan (marble ...sadly, no joy), Jay (hot sauce) and John Creason (Tully's gift card).

The closing bell was rung at 8:36AM.
