Vandals don't look past Huskies: Although tempted to look past a win-hungry Washington Huskies in anticipation of a Military Appreciation Day at home next Saturday versus San Diego State, the Idaho Vandals eased up this past Saturday in being satisfied with a moral victory at Husky Stadium. Both programs now sport a 1-1 schedule in this young football season.

Membership proposed: Margie Coy, a member of the Duvall Rotary Club, is proposed for transfer to our club by sponsor Roger Martindill. She is a fitness instructor in Duvall. This is the second of two postings of this membership proposal by the membership committee headed by Roger Stark. Anyone with questions or concerns related to this membership proposal should contact either the president, secretary or membership chair.

New Reporter: Cherry Tinker will be joining the Rotary Reporter crew next month, stepping in for President Al Marsh.

Charter Member resigns: Don Fitzpatrick Jr., one of our charter members from 1986-87, has moved to Winthrop and has advised the club that he will resign from the club as a result. Don promises to stay in touch with the club, however, and will retain his charter membership in the fledgling Grace Provisional Rotary Club. Don and June Bartram are signed up for Wine'n Shine next month and have generously offered a stay at his home in Winthrop as an auction item.

Important meetings: The Board will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Banner Bank. Important items on the agenda are a policy for sustaining the club's financial viability (cash flow) and a proposal for scholarships for the club to offer in 2010 through our Woodinville Rotary Charitable Foundation. Wine'n Shine Steering Committee will meet Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the conference room at Brittany Park Retirement Center. Dinner show details, procurement and audience development are at the top of the agenda.
