Good news from the education front:
Members who have followed the growth
of teenagers at the Secondary Academic for Success and its
Music Project program will remember Heidi and Jazmin when,
as sophomores, they performed in the group appearing at the
Triple Door concert and during other shows throughout the
school year.
Music Project Foundation exec Jim
Geiszler reports that both Heidi and Jazmin have qualified
for entrance in the Running Start program at Cascadia
Community College. They both are only juniors!
Our club is a major
supporter of the Foundation which later this year would like
to introduce the music project at Woodin elementary as well
as continuing it at SAS as an important extracurricular
activity. Along
with Bernadette Bascom and American idol personality
Sanjaya, the SAS singers will provide the dinner show during
"Puttin' on the Ritz" on October 10.
