Good
Morning Woodinville, how are ya. We
sang the Guthrie tune loud and clear thanks to Crimson Chris and
President Al. Our invocation from Cherry was deep and thoughtful,
full of thanks and gratefulness.
August rolled in with some
cooler temperatures for Rotarians while many members spoke about
their summer trips and vacations with families. Birthdays
celebrated for Susan, Pam and Joe during the sizzling' heat - but no
worse for the wear. Happy times with kids along the rivers, lakes
and streams. Prayers for Bob Maynard as he recovers from a fall
resulting in a fractured hip. All other members reporting in well.
Looking forward to our upcoming picnic at 21 acres on August 22nd to
enjoy farm fresh and local sensations. King Salmon on the grill
with salads made on site with cool refreshing pours from local
vintages.
Our speaker, Al, from the pulpit on, What I've
learned from life , encouraged us not to ignore history, to
speak out and consider the world differently than the person sitting
next to us. Our greatest skill is the ability to see and walk in
someone else's shoes. Citing numerous examples from work and family
life, Al suggest that we look at the world as a child would.
"Believe in political incorrectness and hang on to our
independence."
The big news on Wine & Shine procurement
from Maltby Bill is that procurement has gone from 50k to 60k and
now up to $75k thanks to wine and event procurement from our
members. Two months to go and things are looking good.
Ken
and Steve were the raffle winners and Joe again had a chance for the
marble.
See you next time. Susan
