Eagle Scout Court of Honor: Daniel Raymond Soloff will receive his Eagle badge during a court of honor on Monday, July 27, at ceremonies at the DeLille Cellars chateau. Woodinville Rotarians are invited to attend but if attending are asked to Please RSVP to Janice Soloff at janenzia@comcast.net or 206-719-6491.

Reserve August 22: The club's annual family picnic will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 21 Acres in Woodinville. Tana Baumler and Steve Dolan have again been enlisted to flip burgers. Sliced organic tomatoes and onions from the nearby row crops. Alex Hopkins, Pam Johnstone and Bill Schink are taking the point, too. Tentative starting time: 4 p.m. Members of the 21 Acres program will provide tours of the site, including the 18 acres of vegetable and berry crops under production. Volunteers will be asked to help with setup and the gathering and preparation of a community salad for the event. There's plenty of room for a mini car show, too.

Hello Rotarians: An important note about auction procurement!

At Rotary Tuesday, Jay Fiske had us list family, friends and neighbors and then identify potential procurement items from each.  Several Rotarians responded with great ideas to pursue.  We captured some of these ideas but not all and want to make sure that we have the descriptions correct and that we haven't missed anyone. The list that we have is:

Fred Kempe  -- Condo in Spain & two other countries(pls specify)
Alex Racz  -- Race car ride
Tana Baumler -- writing workshop
John Hughes -- Tour Japanese Garden UW Arboretum
Jay Soloff -- Talk to neighbor wine maker (Brookwalter)
Chris Boland -- Watch Monday Night Football with former NFL  players.
Erv DeSmet -- Ask developer for 2 streets for naming rights
Gordy Green -- ?? (pls provide description)
Gary Whitsell -- ?? (pls provide description)

Would appreciate your review:
  • For each person, a) confirm and/or edit your item, b) add description where missing.
  • If we missed a Rotarian's idea, please add it to the list.
  • Add any new ideas that may have come to mind since the meeting.
Appreciate your help and keep working hard to get great auction items.

Thanks  --  Bill Schink

Procure! Procure! Procure!

Professor Jay Fiske subbed for the Mariners legend who was delayed in Detroit, apparently.
