NW Parks Foundation targets Rotary: The June 6th edition of the Woodinville Weekly contained a letter to the editor from the board of directors of the Northwest Parks Foundation chastising Woodinville Rotary Club for withdrawing a financial pledge of support for the Woodinville Sports Fields. For those who may have missed the letter or who may reside beyond the reach of the publication, it is reprinted here.

Board meeting for July: Directors and officers will next meet on Tuesday, July 21 with plans to hold evening meetings commencing at 5:30 p.m. at Banner Bank offices in Woodinville.

Golf at Bear Creek: Jay Fiske announced plans for a golf outing on July 27 at Bear Creek Golf and Country Club. Estimated cost $60 per player. More details to follow.

Eagle Scout Court of Honor: Daniel Raymond Soloff will receive his Eagle badge during a court of honor on Monday, July 27, at ceremonies at the DeLille Cellars chateau. Woodinville Rotarians are invited to attend but if attending are asked to Please RSVP to Janice Soloff at janenzia@comcast.net or 206-719-6491.

Reserve August 22: The club's annual family picnic will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 21 Acres in Woodinville. Tana Baumler and Steve Dolan have again been enlisted to flip burgers. Tentative starting time: 4 p.m. Members of the 21 Acres program will provide tours of the site, including the 18 acres of vegetable and berry crops under production. Volunteers will be asked to help with setup and the gathering and preparation of a community salad for the event. There's plenty of room for a mini car show, too.

Birthdays: Terry Jarvis and Joe Truglio will celebrate a birthday on Sunday.

Vineyard dressed for the Fourth: A devoted band of vineyard enthusiasts showed up early on July 4 to weed and dress the Grace Town Vineyard  pinot noir vines at the Molbak Plant Farm in south Grace. The vineyard is expected to produce its first vintage in the fall of 2010.
