Date secured - The
Music Project (one of our many beneficiaries) will sponsor a
benefit performance of the SAS jazz performance group the
night of Tuesday, May 26 at the Triple Door in Seattle.
Headlining the Vegas-style show at Seattle's best music
venue will be Bernadette Bascom and Sonny
Turner, backed by the joyful singing "Esteems" from SAS and the First
Place School for the homeless in Seattle. SAS students, in
March, will mentor 4th-5th-6th grade children of Seattle's
homeless for three weeks with the guidance from the dynamic
Bernadette and her Music Project supporters.

Field update --
an item in a
recent Woodinville Weekly edition noted that the
Woodinville City Council will take up the future of the
Woodinville Sports Field project at its March 10 meeting.
The city manager had been instructed to bring a number of
options to the Council on how the city might be able to
proceed with the development, keeping in mind that the
city's funding for the fields is between $1.5 and $2 million
short of being able to complete the work as originally
proposed. Our Rotary Board has tabled action related to the
club's support of the project until after the City Council
has signaled to the community how, when and if the city will
proceed.
For a
good summary of the Fields and city budgetary issues, check
out page one of the Feb. 23 issue of the Weekly. The
article covers potential options open for Council
consideration.
