"Sprint
to Paul Harris": Dear
Fellow Rotarians,
Your
board of directors has asked me to announce a "Sprint
to Paul Harris." Between now and June 30, the club will
use an accumulation of recognition points to match, dollar
for dollar, your cash contribution to the Rotary
International Foundation. The Club has accumulated
Recognition points which we can use to help you achieve your
first, or next level of Paul Harris recognition. (These
are points, not cash).
Becoming
a Paul Harris Fellow is the Recognition given when you have
donated $1000 to Rotary International Foundation. For
every $1000 after that, you become a Multiple Harris Fellow
and more shiny stones are added to your pin.
The
Club has a goal of contributing $10,000 to the Foundation
for the fiscal year ending June 30. Your Board has
decided what better way to achieve that than to follow-up
the "Fleece Roger Campaign", with another
to incentify us to step up and hit that next Paul Harris
recognition level. You can find your current status by
logging onto www.rotary.org
and entering the site through Member Access (in the upper
right). Or, pop an email to Greg Riggs at greg@riggswealth.com.
You can make your contribution online, or by asking Greg for
a form. When making your contribution, be sure to
check the box “Annual Program Fund”.
FYI:
Paul Harris was credited with founding Rotary in Chicago in
1905.
Surgeries: Wayne
Parris and Larry
Duffield are home recuperating from major surgical
experiences. A card or email would assure them Rotarians are
wishing them a complete and speedy recovery.
Triple
Door Musical Outing?: A
number of members have expressed interest in attending The
Music Project Foundation fund-raiser May 26 at the Triple
Door in Seattle. The club's fun and frolic committee is
asking if there might be interest in securing a bus to take
a group to the event and avoid traffic congestion and
parking issues -- not to mention simply avoiding driving
after celebrating the achievements of these unique young
students. If interested, speak up at Tuesday's meeting.
Leave from a central location about 5 pm in time for a Wild
Ginger supper followed by the "show" at 7 p.m.
featuring Bernadette Bascom, Sonny Turner of the
"Platters", Theo Peoples of "The Four
Tops", American Idol's Sanjaya Malakar and the SAS jazz
performers. It's billed as an authentic "Vegas
Evening." $50 per person + cost of the bus.
Breakfast
Volunteers Needed: Be
prepared to volunteer for helping with the 25th annual
scholarship recognition breakfast May 19 at the Northshore
Senior Center in Bothell. Woodinville Rotary will again
shoulder the duties of serving the continental breakfast to
scholarship recipients, family members and Rotarians and
Kiwanians who will be attending. Tana Baumler will be
coordinating our participation and asking for volunteers.
David and Mary Jane Landau will be catering.
