News of Vast Import and Interest to Woodinville Rotarians

1st Wine
Notes a
popular,
huge
success --
Rotarians, guests and family volunteer

Woodinville Rotary provided 54 volunteers for the Woodinville Wine Country's first concertfest supported by Woodinville 24 wineries, a number of prominent Seattle-area eateries and an appreciative audience of serious wine connoisseurs. Club members volunteering (with spouses, family and friends included) were Tana Baumler, Chris Boland, Jon Bylin, Becky Clark, Erv DeSmet, Larry Duffield, Daryl Eckland, Jorge Gonzalez, Bill Gowin, Gordy Green, Eric Greenwood, John Hughes, Larry Leonardson, Al Marsh, Roger Martindill, Alan Nelson, Norm Noble, Greg Riggs, Charlie Russell, Bill Schink, Jay Soloff, Susan Webster, Gary Whitsell and Max Zellweger.

Volunteer support from Rotary was critical to staging such an event.
Members reported having a great time, soaking up some rays and enjoying the offerings of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Tower of Power, Mindy Abair and Paul White. Some were even known to participate at the wine tasting tent. The president was seen "shaking it" during a Tower of Power number.

Pig Roast,
Car Show,
and
Grace Junior Olympics

Mark your calendar and get ready for a fun event with your family and a bunch of other Rotarians!

This is the opportunity to introduce our family, our children and grandchildren into the fun and spirit of Woodinville Rotary!
The Woodinville and Grace Rotary Bar-B-Q. Pig Roast, Car Show, and Junior Olympics is being put on by Jorge Gonzalez (who won the “white marble”), Gordy and Jan Green, the Fun Committee, the “Fifth Tuesday” Committee, and a few Rotary zanies.
All Woodinville and Grace Rotarians, their families, children and grand kids are invited. There is no charge!

Just bring a vegetable side dish or a salad, and whatever you wish to drink.  (Soft drinks, wine or beer will be gleefully accepted and consumed on the spot!).   The club will furnish barbeque, chicken, and an old fashioned dessert!
Bring a special interest car, motorcycle, or hot air balloon and enter in the car show put on by our own Larry Duffield and Bonkers; bring your grand kids and enter them in the kids games supervised by our own Joe Truglio.

3.  Stay on 216th St SE for 0.3 miles.  Turn left on 63rd Ave SE (through the woods) and go 0.1 miles to the party!

New bylaws
for club's
charitable
foundation

The club officers and directors have approved new bylaws for the Woodinville Rotary Charitable Foundation, a non-profit 501(c) 3 IRS approved entity which is responsible for Rotary fundraising and charitable giving on behalf of Woodinville Rotary. The new bylaws were developed based on Rotary International recommendations that the officers and directors for the club and for the foundation not be identical as has been reported in the past.

Club members will be asked to approve the structure of the Foundation as called for in the new bylaws. This will be sought at the July 29 meeting.
