News of Vast Import and Interest to Woodinville Rotarians

Volunteering
at Wine Country
Wine Notes
Concertfest

Cynthia Daste, executive director for Woodinville Wine Country, will join us Tuesday to give more details on volunteer duties and assignments for the July 26-27 concertfest at Marymoor Park.

By providing volunteers to help Woodinville Wine Country stage a successful concertfest later this month, our club stands to receive a substantial contribution to our scholarship programs. The club has been named the primary beneficiary of Wine Notes July 26 and 27. Money Rotary receives will be dedicated to establishing a permanent scholarship endowment that would fund our scholarships at Washington State University and Walla Walla Community College in their Viticulture and Enology education programs. Please give strong consideration to participating in this club project and invite friends and family to sign up to be a volunteer. Larry Duffield is coordinating. We need upwards of 50 volunteers among Rotarians, family and friends to help the wineries make this first ever event a big success.

Karen McDonald, senior vice president for strategic accounts for Experian, Kirkland. Proposed by Rorry Dunbar.

New bylaws
for club's
charitable
foundation

The club officers and directors have approved new bylaws for the Woodinville Rotary Charitable Foundation, a non-profit 501(c) 3 IRS approved entity which is responsible for Rotary fundraising and charitable giving on behalf of Woodinville Rotary. The new bylaws were developed based on Rotary International recommendations that the officers and directors for the club and for the foundation not be identical as has been reported in the past.

Club members will be asked to approve the structure of the Foundation as called for in the new bylaws. This will be sought at the July 29 meeting.
