Baaab Russell reporting

Laura and guest Brienne Byers

Laura's final report on her week

Guests:

Morrie Tugby (Asst DG), Chuck Russell (guest of Daryl Eckland), Brianne Byers (friend of Laura’s)

Program:  The Biggest Organ on your Body

Loma Gregg, community relations director of Ambrosia Medspa, a rejuvenation and skin revitalization center in Kirkland proved to be quite the challenge for photo-meister Snappy.  Not only was Ms Gregg a ‘moving’ target, Snappy had difficulty focusing as he had to put his eyes back in his head.

Gregg relayed that Ambrosia provides laser, enzyme therapy and botox for hair and wrinkle removal/prevention as well as skin resurfacing, fat reduction, leg vein and scar removal.

No one was able to guess Gregg’s age as she looks substantially younger than she looks.  She also added that Medicare wouldn’t pay for her treatment.

Exchange Student

Today was Laura’s last Woodinville Rotary meeting.  She recounted her summer trip with the other District exchange students.  The route taken was Seattle to San Francisco to LA to San Diego, Las Vegas and Yosemite.

LA was too polluted, but had nice beaches. The 14 hour hike in San Diego was the worst experience of her life, with Yosemite being the best.

As usual, Wdvl Rotarians make the young girls cry, Laura included.  She says she “had a wonderful time and thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Laura can be reached at: kiki_lamouche@hotmail.fr or at ltopin002@gmail.com

Asst DG Tugby:

Morrie highlighted goals and events for the coming year.  DG Jesse Tam is looking to increase membership, be sure to wear your Rotary pin wherever you go.  He is focusing on child mortality this year.

Other items include: Group Study Exchange teams from India & France, Shoreline Rotary has a golf Tourney coming up, District Conference will be in Victoria, May 1-3 and be sure to check out the Rotary Academy on the District’s website.

Aug 9 – Town of Grace Pig Roast & Car Show

Will be held at the Gordy Green Estate from 4 – 8 PM.  Bring family, side dish or salad.  Dessert has been taken care of.  RSVP to Larry Duffield about the cars, Cherry Jarvis about the roast.

July 25-27 – Wine Notes:

Volunteers are needed to put on three-day event with the local Woodinville wineries.  Help with crowd control, ticket taking etc.  A portion of the proceeds will fund our Viticulture and Enology scholarship endowment.  Contact Larry Duffield.

Sgt. DeSmet:
Gratz – “Studliness Award” for tie chain. Still cost him a couple of bucks

Riggs was magically exorcised for this trip to SF.

Trophy to prove it!

Julian Denes reported that he took 1st Place overall in a Triathlon in Ocean Shores this weekend.

HOWEVER, this reporter reviewed race results that show someone named Magor Denes, not
Julian Denes was 1st Overall.  Hmm…. Further this Magor person was only 1st Overall for the
Men’s division.  Apparently a much younger, female, by the name Cara Payne was the
absolute Overall winner leaving this Magor person in the dust by 7 minutes.   In any event a
stellar performance by someone in the Denes family.  Which begs the question, who is Attila
Denes, who was also a participant?

Leonardson’s previously barren daughter (his words, not mine) gave birth.

Schink says WR was the 5th largest contributor to Rotary 1st Harvest with donations totaling
$8,795, and perhaps the largest on a per member basis.

Soloff is ‘happy to be here’ and is looking forward to his Brazilian laser treatment at Ambrosia.

Ive’s 30 year old son (again, his words, not mine) just graduated from high school.  He was
Student Body President, took 3rd at State in Pole Vault and was West Seattle Rotary’s
      Student of the Year.

President’s Thoughts:

In the interest of time: “The first self-dressed, stamped antelope.”  Consider yourself lucky if you were absent or scooted.

                                                                           Respectfully submitted, Baaab Russell
