Timely News and Views . . . Remember the "Blues and Jazz" singers who performed at the Santa Breakfast last December? These students from the Secondary School for Success will be conducting a Music Project culminating concert the afternoon of Tuesday, February 12 at the Anderson School in Bothell. 1 p.m. The performance will feature a number of professional musicians who have been working with the SAS students the past three weeks. If you can work it into your schedule, consider supporting these students in this most interesting program that has made a very positive impact on these students attending the district's "school of choice". The middle school students comprise a backup chorus for a number of solo performers who represent ninth grade through senior class members. SAS has an enrollment of 120 this year. Coordinator Jim Geiszler says past concerts have seen 100 students taking part in the music project. A benefit concert from the program will be held at the Northshore Performing Arts Center on April 6. More details later.
