     Exchange Student Arrives Aug. 28

  Laura Topin is scheduled to arrive this Tuesday afternoon from Betheny, France to begin her year-long experience with our club. She turns 16 on Aug. 26. She is being sponsored by the Rotary club of Reims and will be living with Cathi and John Abbott as her first home family. Her father is an engineer and her mother is a software project manager.

          Ecuador, Gabriella "Gabby" Wright of Lake Washington High School.

Memberships Proposed . . 
   
The Board has voted to extend invitations of membership to John Creason and Julie Billett. Both were in attendance at the August 21 meeting. John is chief technology officer for Smartsheet.com, a firm specializing in online task management software systems and is a resident of Woodinville. Julie is associated with the Windermere Real Estate offices in Woodinville and, too, is a resident of Woodinville.

     Members with concerns or seeking additional information on these proposed memberships, should contact the secretary or president. This is the first of two Newsletter postings of this notice, as required by club policy.

Becky Clark has been appointed to the board of trustees of the Northshore Scholarship Foundation to represent Woodinville Rotary. She will fill un-expired term of former Woodinville Rotarian Chris Carnevali. Other club members on the Board are Tana Baumler, Steve Dolan, Larry Leonardson and Roy Williams.

   Larry Duffield was the surprise winner of a bottle of wine in a special raffle conducted by the President in recognition of Larry's long-standing service in the youth exchange program.
