Exchange Student Arrives Aug. 28

  Laura Topin is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday from Betheny, France to begin her year-long experience with our club. She turns 16 on Aug. 26. She is being sponsored by the Rotary club of Reims and will be living with Cathi and John Abbott as her first home family. Her father is an engineer and her mother is a software project manager.

       

u Special guest at this Tuesday's meeting will be the new chancellor of University of Washington Bothell, Kenyon Chan. Prior to his joining UWB in July, he was interim president of Occidental College in Los Angeles and previously served as dean, vice president of academic affairs and a professor of psychology.  He'll have a chance to see a pair of his students in action as program presenters of their Village Volunteers clean water campaign at our meeting.
