Schmied tells about the proposed Environmental Education Center Club earns state award for parks support
President Rick Pisani displays trophy awarded Woodinville Rotary Club for our long-standing support of community parks in Woodinville. The club was selected the top organization for 2008 by the Washington State Parks & Recreation association. Pictured with Rick during presentation at annual meeting in the Tri-Cities were Brian Meyer (left), park maintenance supervisor for Woodinville and Woodinville Parks and Recreation Director Lane Youngblood. Woodinville Rotary has financially supported city park development in the amount of contributed or pledged funds of nearly $300,000 since the club led the campaign in 1996 to raise private funds to enhance the Wilmot Gateway Park at the entrance of downtown Woodinville. In addition, the club was instrumental in securing private donations for Wilmot Park of nearly $700,000. Stewardship of Rotary Community Park was also noted.
