The Linda Report:

Pres Gary reported with pride that on February 25th and March 10th combined, 37 Rotarians, 7 spouses, and 8 children and friends, donated 175 service hours to the City of Woodinville to improve Rotary Community Park!...All the plans are complete for an amazing Woodinville Rotary 20th Anniversary Celebration at Ste. Michelle Winery on March 27th!!!...

Recently returned from President Elect Training Seminar (PETS), incoming President Rick Pisani announced his team of club leaders for 2007-08:

  Vice Pres: Roger Stark

  Wine'n Shine co-chairs: Chris Boland/Greg Riggs

  Rotary Foundation: Wayne Parris

Community Relations: Jon Bylin and Marty Dennis

  International Service: Jorge Gonzalez

Jack of All Trades: John Hughes

Soon-to-be Pres Pisani also encouraged everyone to attend District Assembly on Saturday, May 19 at Sammamish High School…Recounting how special it is to meet young people and hear about their challenges and dreams, Scholarship Chair Roy Williams recruited 8 Rotarians to interview applicants for the 6 Woodinville Rotary Scholarships in April….Christine Howeiler announced the Northshore YMCA had surpassed its campaign goal this year and thanked Rotary and many individual members for their generous support…Al Marsh beamed to report that his daughter achieved All American in track!...Greg Riggs thanked the club for its continuing support for the District Boy Scouts Breakfast and made a successful pitch for four more Rotarians to attend on May 23….Jon Bylin made an unsuccessful try for the elusive white marble…

We learned from Jorge Gonzalez that his friendship with Larry Duffield—and a little pressure from the women in their lives—led to his joining Woodinville Rotary. Some noted a bit of “Erin Go Baja” when Jorge said he came to the US from Ireland in 1981, when we all know it was really from Mexico City—Viva Mexico and Jorge!...

Thanks to the persistence of Art Haines and Joe Truglio, who learned about Engineers Without Borders at the Rotary International Conference in Chicago in 2005, Jonathan Miller and Donee Alexander, members of the UW Student Chapter of EWB, described their challenging and heartwarming project in central Belize.
