You had a sense that this was going to be a special meeting when you observed Terry Jarvis offering grapes to all of the members and guests. How could this not be a memorable gathering?
Further evidence of the extraordinary events that would occur that morning were shown by the very distinguished looking Centennial Citizen of Grace (name withheld upon request) attired in the official Grace Sweatshirt.
Disturbing multiple personalities issues. One low point occurred when two members exhibited bizarre behaviors necessitating a call to the Rotary International Psychologist On Duty Hotline. Jorge thought he was Pete Rose and took his badge to prove it. Al Marsh was convinced that he was JanRunkel. That may have far broader implications than a mere name change.
Princess Nikita's report. She advised us that she had a wonderful Easter Sunday. She also was quite clear that she is still soliciting $20 donations to assist the powerful Woodinville track team to learn how to hurdle on real hurdles. Things like that.
Electronic newsletter. Changes are being made to our newsletter, making it even mo betta than it was before.
Anyone wanting to qualify for a Paul Harris award in time for the June coronation dinner should contact Prez Gary right away and make appropriate arrangements.
Joe Truglio told us about the "easy money" available to our club if our members would simply follow some very easy steps when obtaining tickets for the Washington Wine Highway. Remember to use the word "chardonnay" early and often as you rake in the easy money. Go ahead. He's right. It is easy.
Raffle. Marvelous Marv Workman went for the white marble and was rebuffed.
Charity event. Chris Boland distributed little rocks which we need to consider how to turn into gold for our upcoming charity event.
A most riveting guest speaker. Autumn Allen, Outreach Supervisor/Regional Training Coordinator for Families & Friends of Missing Persons and Violent Crime Victims made a compelling speech about the rights of crime victims or the lack of rights. She talked to us about how her organization can be of such incredible assistance to families of crime victims. You could have heard a pin drop during this very powerful and memorable presentation.
Terry, the grapes were delicious. |
