Be sure your guests know they can become donating sponsors
during the silent auction timeframe to support
Clean, safe water for villages in Kenya
and
New, personal dictionaries to Woodinville 3rd Graders

A $10 contribution purchases a water filter for a Kiminini family
or a brand new dictionary for a 3rd grade student. We can do both!

Look for these signs

        Water Filter Sign Up
You and your guests will find the Village Volunteers UWB club demonstration and display within the Silent Auction area. Consider donating one or more water filter and help a family in Kiminini, Kenya eliminate 99% of disease carrying bacteria in their drinking and cooking water. Villagers will make and assemble a proven purification system. This will be auction item No. D 408 and a form is available to sign up in support of this project. Just indicate the number of filters you would like to provide. The amount will be charged to your auction account Saturday night.

            Dictionary Sign Up
You and your guests will find the dictionary display within the Silent Auction area. Consider donating one or more dictionary and this will help us reach our club goal of putting a dictionary in the hands of every third grade student in the Northshore School District. This is the second year of our Literacy campaign to improve the communications skills of young readers. This will be auction item No. D 409 and a form is available to sign up in support of this project. Just indicate the number of dictionaries you would like to provide. The amount will be charged to your auction account Saturday night.

Working with the UW Bothell Village Volunteers Club on this
humanitarian project is a 'trifecta' for Woodinville Rotary

1. Engages young people in 'Service Above Self.'

2. Provides Kiminini villagers sustainable business opportunities.

3. Supports Rotary International programs dedicated to "water".

The UWB student club's goal is to engage the non-governmental organizations of
Village Volunteers, Common Ground, and Potters for Peace

to develop a sustainable clean water project in Kenya to benefit hundreds and hundreds of
families who live under conditions of constant, life threatening disease.

Village Volunteers is headquartered in Seattle and serves to (1) coordinate the manufacture of the ceramic filters (Potter for Peace), (2) organize the presence of volunteers from the U.S. who help villagers install and use the filtering system (Village Volunteers), and (3) arrange for on site operations in and around the villages targeted for water filtration systems from Woodinville Rotary and the UWB Action Club (Common Ground).
